Abstract:
When working with wooden prefabricated house elements the sizes are typically large, 6-10 m with heightsup to 3,6 m. This thesis attacks the problem of creating a microfactory capable of handling such large-sized objects. The suggested solution is to package the factory in several containers and provide a packaging/teardown methodology for quick setup of themicrofactory. The thesis presents the proposed solution, analyses the cell setup for important features such as cycle time and workflow, and discusses potential advantages and drawbacks with using local production in prefabrication. The proposed solution seemspromising.
