Abstract: The approach to achieve the objectives would be to rewrite PLC code to codewritten in the programming language Juliet and executed in the event systemRomeo, which have both been developed by Cognibotics. Then the KPI figureswould be measured and compared.More specifically the idea is to first rewrite code written in structured textand if time allows write a reusable library for I/O in Juliet which can be usedin Juliet similarly to how a structured text library can be used by other structured text, functional block diagram or sequential function chart in a PLC. TheKPI figures for this library would also be validated. Finally if there is still timeleft the library in Juliette will be used to recreate the functionality of a PLCapplication. The two application would then be put under high stress to findreal-time performance bottlenecks.
