Speaker: Semmy Rülf
Title: Leadership in start-ups and growth companies
Abstract: Semmy Rülf was born in Kristianstad. After studies in Lund, he has been active in establishing and developing technological spin-off companies in the region, recently with a focus on medical technologies. Semmy has served as CEO of Axis and Prostalund, was instrumental to the founding of Xvivo perfusion, and several other companies. He is currently involved in several ventures with strong ties to Lund University. Notably, he has a key role in UGLK science. The company develops a novel technology for re-conditioning donor kidney to a transplantable state. UGLK’s technology relies both on deep medical insight, and robust control systems to stabilize the organ state—something Emil Sundström spent one year on establishing before joining the department as PhD student.
In the talk, Semmy will share share both stories and insights form his long and fruitful career, and hopefully inspire a new generation of doctoral students and young scientists to take their novel and promising ideas on entrepreneurial journeys.
